LACONIC
A digital flagship for a maker whose product is quieter than the market it sells into.
The product is deliberately restrained: braided cord and a single piece of solid sterling silver. On a marketplace it disappears next to louder jewellery, and the price is impossible to justify without the context that explains it.
Build the storefront the object deserves - one that sells restraint by being restrained, and gives the material and the making enough room to do the persuading.
What we did.
The palette was sampled from the product photography itself, so the page and the object appear to be lit in the same room. Surfaces carry a trace of warmth rather than screen-neutral grey, which is the cheapest thing an interface can do to read as physical.
Product pages are built around material rather than specification. What the cord is, what the silver is, why there is one element and not a chain - the questions that decide a purchase at this price, answered before they are asked.
A configurator lets a customer assemble a piece from the same components the maker works with, so personalisation stays inside the design language instead of undermining it.
Built into it
- Storefront with collections and editorial entry points
- Product pages built around material and making
- Configurator for made-to-order pieces
- Cart, checkout and order tracking
- Wishlist and customer accounts
- Journal for long-form brand editorial
- Prices held in minor units to avoid rounding error
